Dr. David Jeremiah is a popular pastor/ teacher, and has had a daily program on Calvary Chapel affiliated ‘His Channel’ for some years. However, he has had numerous problems with bad affiliations and endorsements.
In May 2016, DJ was scheduled to take part – but later withdrew from – the “Jumpstart” Pastors and Leaders Conference, which featured well know Word-Faith preachers Joel Osteen, Joyce Meyers & others.
In ‘Life Wide Open’ DJ cites contemplatives Brother Lawrence’s ‘Practice of the Presence of God”, and ‘When the heart Waits’, by Sue Monk Kidd. Now DJ has lent his name and credibility to back the aberrant theology of Sarah Young and her ‘Jesus Calling’. In a recent advert on Jesuscalling.com, we are told: “As a pastor and a teacher, Dr. Jeremiah advocates daily prayer and scripture reading. He appreciates how Sarah Young has helped many with their prayer lives through the words of Jesus Calling.
“When I read Sarah’s work, it’s pretty obvious to me why it’s been so highly regarded and received. She makes prayer very personal. Sometimes prayer isn’t personal, sometimes prayer can be very cold and empty. Maybe that’s why a lot of people have a hard time sustaining any kind of a prayer ministry. What Sarah has done has made it possible for people to say, “I talked to God today…I communicated with my Father.” That’s what prayer is supposed to be and she has moved the ball down the field quite aggressively in that direction.”
Other endorsers of Jesus Calling include Max Lucado, Mark Batterson, Lysa TerKeurst, Sadie Robertson, Lee Strobel, Ann Voskamp, Sheila Walsh, Christine Caine, Roma Downey, Dr. Jack Graham and many others. See: https://www.jesuscalling.com/media/endorsements/
